Even with everything that Story Sparks provides, to truly make your stories come to life there are a few things you should keep in mind when creating your story.
Firstly, giving the characters a distinct voice will go a long way to imbue them with emotions and depth. Going hand in hand with this is noises. There is a big difference between saying the lion roared and letting loose with a roar of your own.
Second tool in your kit is physical movement. Say a pirate draws his sword and prepares for a duel, making those movements will help your little one imagine the world you are looking to create.
This third one is so simple, but so important. Get input for your audience! You don't need to make every decision on this adventure. Leave it in your littles one's hands whether the alien goes to school or to the zoo!
Fourth is all about that story structure, make sure to have a beginning, middle and end. When you jump into your adventure, make sure to take a second to briefly think “where do I want this story to end up, and what do I want to see along the way
Lastly is more of just a reminder, “get wild and wacky!” Anything is possible in your imaginary world and your little one will follow you wherever you take them!
